Protein, broken by the liver, is excreted in the form of urea as a waste product. In case there's any disease of the liver, then it's not able to properly break down foods rich in protein. Similarly, if the kidneys don't function in the proper order, or if there's excess amounts of protein in the body, the kidneys may not be able to excrete the excess amount. The build up of uric acid leads to fatigue and losing appetite. And is where a low protein diet plan comes into play. If you consume less of protein rich foods, the liver and the kidneys would be able to metabolize them properly, thereby giving your body just enough protein it requires. The following paragraphs would give you the kind of foods you need to take during your breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, besides a list of foods which are useful for your body and those foods which you should avoid.

Low Protein Diets

As per health care professionals the recommended protein intake, should be in the range of 40-60 grams every day for a healthy body. But having said that, the amount we consume is much higher than that and this may not be good for the liver and kidneys. Lunch - For lunch you can have an ounce of turkey breast (about 28 gm just enough to supplement the required levels of proteins required by the body), half a cup of tomato, couple of slices of white bread, lettuce, fruit punch, a medium sized apple, mayonnaise (2 - 3 tbs) and beans (not more than Ѕ cup).

Snack - For evening snack, you can have an ice cream or popsicle.

Dinner - While having dinner, you need to have white rice (Ѕ or 1 cup), quarter of a cup of cauliflower and broccoli, not more than a couple of ounce of lean hamburger, salads and half a cup of pineapples. For salads you can have lettuce, chopped celery, cucumber and alfalfa sprouts. And instead of pineapples, you can use apples or water chestnuts as well.

Low Protein for Weight Loss

Protein is necessary for the body, but it's excess is bad. So even if you consume foods rich in protein, it should be in small portions. Proteins which comes from animal based products like meat and eggs, are high in fat content and are not good if you are thinking of losing weight. High fat diets means more calories and more the amount of calories in the body, less the chance of weight loss. In short, you should not consume animal fat. If you want to lose weight, you need to consume foods rich in fiber, especially fruits and vegetables.

So all in all, you need to have a low protein diet plan so that your liver and kidneys function normally. Whenever you are considering a diet plan, you should consult a professional as there may be certain foods to which you are allergic, and so you need to avoid them.
